The Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference focused on the plastics sector was successfully concluded on 10 January 2025 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Guangzhou, China, drawing participation online and offline from over 8 Pakistani companies and 44 Chinese businesses.

The conference commenced with opening remarks from Mr. Sardar Muhammad, Acting Consul General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, who welcomed attendees and emphasized Pakistan's vast potential for joint ventures and investment opportunities in the plastics sector. He encouraged businesses to leverage the benefits offered by Pakistan for enterprises interested in expanding their investments.

Ms. Zhang Ping, Deputy Director of  the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, attended the Conference. It also featured insights from several distinguished guest speakers, including Professor Yang Chongling, Secretary General of the Expert Committee of the Guangdong Plastics Industry Association; Mr. Cheng Xingqiang, Vice President of the Guangxi Plastics Industry Association; Mr. Wang Yong, President of the Dongguan Plastics Industry Association; and Mr. Chen Canjie, Executive Vice President of the China Chamber of International Commerce Guangzhou Panyu District Commerce. These leaders highlighted the significance of the plastics sector in China and the potential for collaborative ventures with Pakistani enterprises.

The Conference commenced at 9 am and continued until 5 pm, facilitating a good number of business meetings resulting in the signing of 8 MOUs. Participants expressed their appreciation for the well-organized event, noting its effectiveness in fostering connections between businesses from both the countries. They highlighted the importance of continued investment meetings to identify collaboration opportunities that create mutually beneficial outcomes.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Sardar Muhammad expressed gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement and interest in exploring investment opportunities. The conference marked a significant step towards enhancing business collaboration between Pakistan and China in the plastics sector.
